META PROPOSES PLAN TO LINK YOUR WHATSAPP ACCOUNT WITH FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM

Meta is expanding its Accounts Center by allowing users to link their WhatsApp accounts with Facebook and Instagram. This integration would let users cross-post their WhatsApp statuses as Stories on Instagram and Facebook without having to upload them separately and would allow users to access multiple Meta apps using a single account, Single Sign-On (SSO).

Meta has guaranteed its users that this new feature is safe and secure and is entirely optional and off by default. They also emphasize that WhatsApp messages and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted even after linking.
The feature which was originally launched in 2020, is designed to simplify managing connected experiences across Meta’s platforms. Future updates will include features like managing avatars, Meta AI stickers, and Imagine Me creations.

The WhatsApp integration will be rolled out globally in phases and could take several months to reach all users. Once available, users will see the option to connect accounts in their WhatsApp settings or when performing actions that involve cross-posting. This move aligns with Meta’s vision of creating a seamless, interconnected experience across its ecosystem while maintaining user privacy and security.
