It’s not just ChatGPT making waves. According to a new report, another AI chatbot is on its way to the iPhone. Google is also reportedly entering the AI chatbot arena.
Apple’s New Initiative and Potential Partnerships
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman detailed in his latest newsletter that Apple’s new initiative, Apple Intelligence, could include an official announcement of a partnership with Google by the end of this year. This partnership would integrate Google’s Gemini chatbot into iPhones where applicable.
Expected Announcements
Gurman stated, “As for an Apple deal with Google or Anthropic, I expect at least the former to be announced around the time Apple Intelligence launches this fall.”
Integration with Siri and Other Apple Apps
In case you missed it, ChatGPT will be integrated with Siri and other Apple apps later this year. If you ask Siri a question and ChatGPT is better suited to provide an answer compared to Apple Intelligence, you’ll be prompted to use ChatGPT instead. Apple mentioned last month that other AI chatbots would eventually be added, and thanks to Gurman, it seems reasonable to assume that Google Gemini will be the next one.
Opting Out of AI Integration
For those who are not fans of AI integration, there will always be an option to opt out.
