In 2021, Agarwal’s then-girlfriend’s mother, a second-hand clothing seller on Poshmark, shared her challenges in sourcing inventory due to supply chain disruptions during the pandemic. Meanwhile, Arora, intrigued by the industry, visited London’s Brick Lane, a hub for second-hand clothing, where he met vintage store owners who sourced their inventory from wholesalers the old-fashioned way—traveling and handpicking items. Recognizing the need for a modern solution, Arora and Agarwal set out to digitize the supply chain, enabling wholesalers to showcase their collections online.
Their platform quickly resonated with the market, helping 10,000 retailers in 70 countries access a steady flow of second-hand items from 1,000 wholesalers. Fleek’s $20.4 million Series A funding was led by HV Capital, with participation from notable investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Shopify president Harley Finkelstein, and Depop’s ex-CEO Maria Raga.

Traditionally, second-hand clothing retailers relied on face-to-face interactions to source inventory from wholesalers.
